Hong Kong looks all business during the day, but when the sun goes down, the nightlife scene is a sight to behold. People from all walks of life come out, dance, drink, and have a good time. This includes members of the LGBT community, of course.
We cannot deny that Hong Kong is an amazing and exciting city with a very active LGBT community. If you want to meet and hang out with Hong Kong ladyboys, you need to know the hot spots where they gather. This is tricky because these places change all the time.
We did our research and came up with some bars and clubs currently worth visiting. You’ll find members of the community having a great time at cabaret performances and drag queen brunches.
Speaking of which, there is one at Lily & Bloom’s, which takes place every Sunday. This spot is unique not only in Hong Kong but also in the entire country. At least that’s what it seems like.
The trans cabaret at Zoo is a more traditional bar, with exciting live shows nevertheless.
Another place LGBT people gather is the BOO Bar, a popular gay bar with karaoke. It has an illuminated bar top, comfortable seats, and a professional sound system. There is a DJ playing dance songs on the last Saturday of each month. The bar gets really busy on weekends. It has daily happy hour.
ZerOne is another popular karaoke bar. It is located in the same neighborhood as BOO, Kowloon, and serves shots, cold beer on tap, and more. Occasionally, the place hosts themed nights and special events.
New Wally Matt Lounge was the first gay bar in the city. It’s still very popular, located in Austin Tower. Asians and Westerners enjoy mingling here. There is free Wi-Fi and friendly staff.
If you want an LGBT-friendly nightclub to party in Hong Kong, look no farther than PLAY. It hosts parties, presentations, exhibitions, and even fashion shows and boasts a state-of-the-art sound and light system.
You can rent an exclusive VIP room here or check out the champagne bar in the VIP section. The city’s only Dom Pérignon booth is here.
WINK is a recent addition to the city’s LGBT bar scene, serving delectable wines and champagnes and an impressive variety of cocktails. The bar is sparsely, but elegantly furnished and absolutely packed on weekends.
Finally, there is the Backyard Bar in Rich Towers, a friendly gay bar with super karaoke equipment and comfortable ambience. People book the bar’s private VIP room for parties.
